Contractor Compliance with Apprenticeship Requirements


The mission of the Merit Apprenticeship Alliance is to provide industry leading, registered apprenticeship training programs in full compliance with state and federal regulations. The Alliance aims to develop and deliver programs that meet the work force development needs of the Alliance apprentices and contractors, and to promote sustainable careers in construction.

 

Contractor Status ~ Firms not affiliated are prohibited from relying on the Alliance to meet apprenticeship requirements.


NOTICE: The Merit Apprenticeship Alliance is required by law [Labor Law, art.23; § 811.1] to notify the NYSDOL and other agencies when an employer is no longer affiliated with the program.


The Alliance hereby advises that the following construction firms are not affiliated as signatory contractors with the Alliance and are prohibited from relying on the Alliance to meet any construction bid or contract specification under the New Jersey Public Works Contractor Registration Law or New York State Labor Law Section 816-b, that contractors and subcontractors shall have, apprenticeship agreements appropriate for the type and scope of work to be performed, that are registered with and approved by the New York State Commissioner of Labor pursuant to the requirements of New York Labor Law Article 23:.
