Good quality open-shop contractors should – and do – invest in registered apprenticeship training because the construction industry needs safe, skill workers.
The Alliance is a consortium of more than 100 open-shop (merit-shop) building, heavy and environmental contractors. Our firms participate in our NYSDOL & USDOL approved apprenticeship training in the Carpentry, Operating Engineer (heavy equipment), Craft Laborer, Ironworker and Cement Finisher/Mason trades.
Together we promote careers in construction and expand business opportunities. Our firms comply with New York and New Jersey bid specifications that require contractors to participate in registered apprenticeship training.
The Alliance proudly offers New York State and US Department of Labor approved apprenticeship training in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Alliance contractors provide high quality on-the-job training. Our related instruction (RI) is based on nationally recognized skill standards accredited by the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) and delivered by NYSED approved providers.
